At TRANSITIONS, the focus is not only on perfecting the external movements of the forms, but also on developing the internal qualities, which are the soul of these arts. Instruction in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels is available for all systems.

Tai-Chi Chuan...

 

Tai-Chi Chuan is widely known for its ability to reduce stress, promote longevity, and establish a natural balance between the Mind, Body and Emotions. Its rhythmic, low impact movements help alleviate unnecessary stress and tension and increase blood circulation and depth of respiration. The results are increased energy, strength, flexibility and endurance - all without strenuous exercise! Instruction in Push-Hands is also available.


Pa-Kua Chang...

 

Pa-Kua Chang which is based on the principal of constant change, is a very active style, generally practiced in intricate, circular patterns. Serious practitioners of Pa Kua develop quickness, flexibility, exceptional leg strength, and a higher level of balance and coordination.


Hsing-I Chuan...

 

Hsing-I Chuan is characterized by forceful, direct movements, and practiced in a linear pattern. Hsing-I Chuan, which means "Mind-Body Boxing", is based on the Wu-Hsing (Five Elements), as well as the useage of Hsing (Form), Yi (Heart/Mind), and Chi (Energy). Instruction also covers Yin/Yang balancing.


Self-Defense...

 

Self-Defense classes at TRANSITIONS consist of practical, do-able self-defense techniques, and focus on developing the internal control to apply them. Master Muhammad believes that "Knowing is Doing," and that you don't really know a martial art if you're not able to use it.
